What is this?
This is the first of a new series of 'Teaser Reveals' which will keep you up to date with new and exciting things we are implimenting into Tour of Duty 31: World In Flames. We will be releasing more news, the closer we get to the new tour - So keep watching for new info! Of course, we won't be telling you everything we've got planned, as we know you all like a few surprises |
Contents:
- Divisional names
- Unit Insignias
- Rankset Preview
- Officer Re-Org
|
---
Divisional Names:
Tour of Duty 31: World in Flames will travel around Europe, Asia and Africa, pitting the Axis and Allied forces against each other in a merciless dual to the death. Our focus will be on the tooth and nail fighting between:
In Western Europe
The German 3. Fallschirmjäger-Division
vs.
The Canadian 1st Canadian Infantry Division
In Eastern Europe
The German 46. Infanterie-Division
vs.
The Russian 27th Guards Rifle Division
In Italy and North Africa
The American 1st Infantry Division
vs.
The German 90. Leichte Afrika Division
|
---
Preview of Unit Insignias:
The next thing we want to show you are the Unit insignias for a selection of the opposing divisions. The insignias that are shown below will automatically be your avatar within our website once you are registered for a side.
|
---
Ranksets:
Below are three example ranks out of both the US and the German (Fallschirmjäger) rankset to show you what you can expect for ToD31. Different fations such as US, British, German, Russian, Commonwealth, Polish, etc. will have their own ranks and rank insignias. As well as this, different arms with these nation's armies, such as Infanterie, Fallschirmjäger, Panzer-grenadier, Airborne, Infantry, Armored, etc. there will be a historically accurate rank and rank insignia. With this we feel we are able to give a greater level of immersion and accuracy.
The ranks and avatars above are presented by our graphical designer Snak3YYY with the research being done by myself and previous F|H researchers.
Note that the US and German (fallschirmjäger) ranks shown above are not equivalent to each other, we picked three ranks from both ranksets randomly.
|
---
Officer Re-Org:
After a long deliberation, it has come to light that four officers is just a bit too many for the jobs they are required to do. Therefore we have decided to reduce the number of officers to three. Having the General and his two Company Commanders. If numbers increase to a position where the General feels he requires another Company, he can hire a new Company Commander. The Company Commanders will, therefore, be trained in bidding in case the General is unable to complete them in time.

It's a Division steeped in history. It should be given such recognition.

Ignore Johnson for right now...we put him in a corner with a roll of tin foil to keep him busy. We'll get him when we're ready for him!
TOD31...I can't wait!
