Persistent World is a multiplayer Mount and Blade: Warband mod which in essence...is a persistent world, with roleplaying elements. You can be a serf who cuts down trees for lumber, mines for iron, a member of a faction for trade or conquest, etc etc.
I remember Peg talking about it in TS and found an Australian server yesterday, so I had to give it a go. It's really damn fun, but it would be awesome with a group. If anyone wants to give it a go in TS with me/us, put it in the thread...I'll start lurking on TS when I'm playing.
I'd admit that it's hard to learn, but it's mainly a sense of, "WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON". Once you have your bearings, it's a bunch more fun.

Been playing M&B and PW mod (also new Naploionic wars) wars for a good year and a half now, so if you guys wanna get a day organised id be happy to come join you in PW mod.

| didn't really like it too much when I tried it, but as you say, its probably because I was on my own and had no idea what was going on. So yeah, I'd be happy to join in and see what it's like
