Third part of the V4 of Forgotten Honor. Many of the changes have been happening during the last days. As previously said, we want introduce new features as we go.
Thorshammer has been doing the back-end work and I the front-end in a coding marathon to get everything ready as soon as possible. We still have to fix several areas (forums and team editor mainly) as well as introducing new features. Yet the engine is almost 10 years old and we are doing the best we can we this outdated engine which makes development slower and harder.
A quick overview of the changes:
The signup process is user friendlier. Although it was introduced in part 1, I want to remind you that clicking the game to join will bring you directly to the signup process. If you click on what the group is currently playing it will bring you to the statistics page.
The code generated by our custom interface has been rewritten and is up to web standards (table-less).
The statistics/members page has now the same layout. This can be accessed either by clicking the currently active game in Games or by clicking Members in the My Groups menu.
Once you clicked on Join this Game it will ask the side you want to join, equivalent to the team (eg.division, clan, etc). It also displays the play time, when clicked it opens a GMT converter. On the top of it shows the step you are in, making it easier to follow.
Now you can select the unit you want to join. Units can be any "child group" within a team. When you click on the Teamleader it will open his profile in a new tab so you can see who is commanding the unit before joining. Also units that have tryouts will have a clear warning message.
Bug: the color of the teamleader is wrong
After choosing side and unit it will ask you to confirm. It shows the starting ranks, tags and avatars of the selected unit.
At this point you joined the Game. It will display the basic information you need to know and it brings you to the group forums. You will probably also receive a welcome PM from your commander.
My Groups is a new feature that wants to create better accessibility to the groups you play with. Before we had a sidebar that had links independly to the game, now on the top it shows the groups you belong to and if you move on it you can easily access the group sections. Depending on the group, attendance or awards may not always be visible.
The number next to the name represents new messages that have been posted in your group page.
Finally on the sidebar you have your latest promotions or medals. If it has been very recent (14 days) they will appear open, with all the details. But you can open or close the details by clicking on it.

The coincidental similarity between "morsus" and the Latin for "death" (mors) and "to bite" (mordere) supposedly contributed to the walrus' reputation as a "terrible monster".

| I gotta say, it sure was a shocker to see this overhaul come onto the site. I'm always supportive of change, especially if its what the boots on the ground today think needs to happen for FH. The old site will always have a place in my heart though. : ( Probably won't have the same good old flashbacks and memories when looking at this new environment.
