For anyone who doesn’t know the Oceania Branch is a branch purely dedicated to the people on the wrong side of the world (sorry guys, but you are Wink

). Due to time differences and ping issues it would simply be impractical for them to try and join in with the fun the other FH branches organize so we gave them a branch and let them do as they please! Since then, the branch staff has worked tirelessly to produce 12 of the finest campaigns for the Forgotten Hope 2 mod for BF2 and with the release of FH2 v2.45 they will soon be kicking the excitement into gear again with a brand new campaign 13.

With all this going I thought we’d better check in and see what they’re up to so I caught up with Oceania staff member tin_snips for a quick chat.

Hi tin. First off what’s your job within the Oceania staff?

Hi, I'm the Oceania branch administrator and coordinator. So that pretty much means I organize each new campaign, track the campaign scores, referee each match, admin the forum, and wrangle other players to give me a hand when it's required. I still like to think I'm a normal FH player, so I go pubbing on the servers like everyone else too.

Sounds great, Forgotten Hope 2 recently released update 2.45 with the raft of updates and changes. Which features are you most excited about for the new campaign?

I'm mainly just pleased that they've spent a lot of the time fixing up a lot of the smaller problems, and making tweaks to get the mod just right. After playing a few matches I can honestly say that this is the best and most polished I've ever seen the Forgotten Hope 2 mod at. I'm also excited about the new maps as it's always fun learning the ins and outs for the first time.

Oceania is currently only playing FH2, correct? Have you got any plans down the line to expand into any new games on the market?

There has been some talk about expanding into other games, and quite a few of us get on the TeamSpeak channel and pub other games together. I think the main issue is that Forgotten Hope is what has brought everyone together though, and with other games you're bound to have people who don't play them. But we'll just have to see where it goes from here.

We’ll keep an eye out then, anything else you'd like say?

Just a quick thanks to the whole Forgotten Honor and Forgotten Hope teams for all of the hard work they put in to allow everyone to play and thanks to SnaK3YYYY for getting peoples thoughts on these matters and putting them up for everyone to see.
