Almost every evening (or even day) me and Gregory are chasing zombies on a private hive server (AT01 or AT03,they share database).
Why private hive server you will ask me. Many reasons :
-Side chat on, so the game is more social and enjoyable.
-Less 10yr old gankers which shoot on sight.
-Kinda less bandits, because people are hunting them down (an easier thing to do when the sidechat is on). And even if you are a bandit it is more interesting seeing that other people create drama around your actions.
-No server hoppers (which go to barracks, log out and switch about 30 servers, and them come at you armed up to the teeth like lobsters....)
-Less shooting on sight comparing to the official hive servers. (I looted Cherno and Elektro without beigh shot at once even though I met other players and we were holding each other at gunpoint till both of us shouted "Friendly!Friendly!". But there are also times when you are relaxed and think that there are no bandits where you are, suddenly "BAM!" .. and you're dead.)
We would like to have more people in our survival-raiding group, it is much easier to keep to our equipment when we are more. Build a camp, base maybe, get a couple of vehicles, a chopper or two .. get stocked up and then ... it is up to us to decide.
So if you are interested, drop me a PM here or find me on TS, I'm usually on the DayZ channel or the Invictus - Project Reality channel.
If you don't know what DayZ is, look here : http://dayzmod.com/

| I'm pretty sure those servers would be blacklisted if the DayZ guys found out.

They can't be blacklisted since they are not related to the dayz hive. It is the same like me hosting a dayz server on my local machine without it connecting to the hive. Plus the dayZ guys already know about it and are not planning to do anything about it.
Why it is better in my opinion? Since part of the playerbase is the same (regular players) and there are less server hoppers, plus the side chat on .. it is much easier to get to know the people you are playing along. You still have to be cautious of course, but you don't have to be totally paranoid and shoot on anything that moves only because if you don't shoot it it will shoot you first. That is the feeling I get when playin of the official servers, complete deathmatch.

| I have never seen "complete deathmatch" in any server where I have been and there is allways friendly people playing that wont shoot you in sight.
