World in Flames is HERE!!!

We have been developing WiF for the last 3 months at the same time as playing through our last campaign. Although the previous ones have hit the occasional stumble we believe that we have refined our system enough to kick the life back into Call of Duty 2.

Mod Updates:

We've developed a brand new mod including 3 new gametypes, 2 new weapons (with plans for more), a fully functioning in game rank system that lets the officers of each team call in artillery strikes and most importantly a stable base code that we can use to expand the game in new directions over the coming months.

Brand New Tour System

To make CoD2 more of an event that just something we do every week, we've reduced the number of days from 2 to 1 and have implemented a number of changes to balance out the game more. We've introduced a draft system to the registration for a tour in which all players who were active in the last tour are ranked based on their activity and then randomly distributed between the two teams to ensure everyone gets to play with everyone during their time at FH. NOTE: For any new players you can simply sign up to any team you like. The system also features the introduction of industry points that allow their commanders to customise how their armies operate and open up different tactical options to them. The system also features a brand new battle map which can be seen below and in the top of both the Call of Duty Public section and the World in Flames section.

Statistics

Over in CoD2 apparently we are all score freaks and are addicted to looking at our own stats so we gathered the server logs up back to tour 25 and put them up for all to see (and laugh at how sad we are). We will be tracking the stats throughout tour 31 so everyone can see their awesomeness. They can all be found here and sepcific tours can be selected using the server drop down box in the top right.

Registration

I mentioned above how registration was going to work but i can also say when it will be opened to anyone who would like to come join us in a lot of fun on sunday evenings. At 8pm GMT this Wednesday (the 23rd) then the post containg the draft will go up and registration will open to anyone who wants to sign up. At 8:15pm then we will all meet up in teamspeak and engage in some light hearted fun games and competitions to get to know your new team mates and maybe gain yourself a couple of perks for the coming tour in the process. The schedule for the evening is as follows:

Registration Party

Event 1: Man Hunt

The two highest ranked officers from each team in the server will be asked to hide somewhere in the map and then the rest of the players will have to hunt them down, the winner is the one who stays alive the longest. Hiders are allowed to shoot, but the seekers can only bash.

Map: Trainstation
Prize: Choice of Second Theatre, (Russian or American)

Event 2: Liberation

A game of liberation between the two sides. Liberation is included in the mod. If you are killed then you get put in the jail at your end of the map. You can be freed if one of your players runs through the jail and touches you. Team with the most players at the end wins, best of 3.

Map: El Alamien
Prize: Extra scope during DMZ week.

Event 3: Bash (one) Off

The classic BP boxing game. Groups of 4 go at it in the ring only allowed to use the butt of their rifles to bring down the opposing players. The winners face each other in the ring to decide the champion. After the group fights then everyone is allowed into the ring for a free for all, last man standing is the winner

Map: BP Ring
Prize: Each Winner has the option to switch team during the campaign - This is no longer transferable to another player.

Event 4: Last Man ... Falling?

Playing LTS on shatter with rifles only!!! The last team with a man alive wins, best of 7. Camping in the center will not be tolerated :>.

Map: Shatter
Prize: Extra SMG during DMZ week.

Event 5: BP Football

If anyone still wants to carry on playing then we'll put on the BP football map and have a game between the two teams to finish off the night!

Map: BP Football
Prize: - none, it's just for fun (and pride)

See you all on the fields:

I hope i see you all on the field of battle in the coming weeks and if you made it this far through the post without keeling over dieing then Salute. Thanks for reading,

~ The FH|BP Staff

Theatre choice will let the winner pick which theatre we play after the current one which is british. Doesn't matter who wins/loses the tour.
